About Us

not us and our mom, but this is what it feels like to us in the kitchen

Two sisters folding dough in a wooden bowl

We're four sisters who bake sourdough in our mom's kitchen. The two oldest do most of the heavy lifting. A few years ago someone gave us a sourdough starter, but we never really did anything with it — it sat in the back of the fridge, forgotten. Then recently a friend who'd moved away came back to visit, pulled it out, and helped us get going for the first time. We fed it, mixed our first dough, and stayed up half the night watching it rise. We fell in love with the whole process.

We now have two starters: Nikki and her offspring Nikki Jr. — we call her NJ. We use them to keep spawning new loaves as we learn, bake for our friends and family, and now, we're excited to be baking for our neighbors too.

The two youngest are four years old, so they're not exactly helping — but they're very good at eating. They love standing on a stool at the counter, getting flour in their hair, and tasting the dough at every stage (even the stages we'd rather they didn't). They've learned so much baking alongside our mom, and more than that, they genuinely love it. The whole process — the mixing, the waiting, the smell of bread in the morning — makes them happy. We hope these loaves bring a little of that same happiness to your kitchen — and to our neighbors and community.
